From purpose built track weapons to some of the finest classic racers, this year you are in for one massive surprise with these inspiring machines on track. CRTA was created to cater for the increasing interest shown by owners of older and cherished vehicles who are looking for a competitive platform that offers a non-contact form of motorsport where the participation lasts longer than just a few minutes over a given stretch of asphalt. It also allows those who wish to take on the challenge of Time Attack amongst classes of vehicles that are more relevant to the cars they drive and for their efforts to be rewarded accordingly.

The classing structure is based on potential lap times – as that’s how Time Attack works. The lap time is king. The quicker the lap the further up the classes the competitor goes. Each driver/owner is able to discuss car specifications, previous lap times/potential lap times and targets, to work out using factual common sense, what class to start from to give safe and fair competition on the track.

This level of calculated open-rule making is particularly exciting for older cars, as many are made to all manner of rules, some of which cannot be used or fit into existing championships like, for instance, Group B. Competitors with Group B cars can sign up and they’re in! We will allocate it the most suitable category and class and that’s it. There are a few twists and turns on the way, but this is an example as to the simple nature of how the rules work.
